The French pet store chain Animalis has got the taste for small retail areas in shopping centres and has now opened a 188 m² store in a Cora shopping mall in Metz. This is the third and largest instance of the small-format retail concept in France. It sells only pet food and accessories, and no live pets.
Less than a year ago, Animalis was sold to family holding firm Emefin, which also owns the Spanish chain Tiendanimal. Stores of the latter are also located in shopping centres on the other side of the Pyrenees.
