The UK pet store chain Pets at Home reported a dynamic sales trend in the first quarter, in which the group's overall sales increased by 25.7 per cent to GBP 377.8 mio (approx. 442 mio euros).
In the 16 weeks up to 15 July, sales on a comparable store area rose by 30.2 per cent, and by 29.4 per cent on a two-year basis. Retail sales increased by 29.1 per cent, with growth in sales of both food and accessories, both in store and online.
The veterinary medicine business continued to grow, and customer sales in the First Opinion practices increased by around 30 per cent in a two-year comparison. The number of profitable practices increased further, according to Pets at Home.
